This is my first professional painting celebrating the work of the artist and modern expressionist Marcus Rothko. It consists of a pale beige background, with 3 blocks of colour, purple, green and blue. In those blocks of colour you have 6 more blocks, red, blue, green, dark green with texture, purple and light green which is borderline yellow. Typical Mark Rothko paintings usually have single blocks of colour on a simple background. I take things further in this painting to make it more interesting and dynamic in style.
